7月1日上午，应机械与精密仪器工程学院和激光雷达遥感研究中心邀请，斯洛文尼亚新戈里察大学Samo Stanič教授在金花校区学科二号楼报告厅为我院师生作了题为《Challenges of the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory》的学术报告。报告会由西安理工大学副校长华灯鑫教授主持，我院教师和研究生参加了本次报告会。

报告会上Samo Stanič教授详细介绍了新戈里察大学天体物理系新加入的一个世界性科研组织Cherenkov Telescope Array（CTA）的情况，深入浅出的给大家介绍了天文物理方面的知识，包括宇宙射线、银河系、暗物质等等，并描述了激光雷达在天文物理探测数据校正中的重要作用。CTA是下一代的伽马射线天文台，由来自32个国家的全球科学家联盟进行，能够研究能量在20 GeV到300 TeV以上的伽马射线和宇宙射线天体物理学。该观测站由南半球和北半球的大型成像大气Cherenkov望远镜阵列组成，将提供全天空覆盖，并在灵敏度上比现有的科研仪器提高一个数量级。预计CTA将发现数百个新的TeV伽马射线源，显著提高我们对宇宙射线起源的认识，探测宇宙中更远的距离，并以极高的TeV质量灵敏度搜索暗物质范围。激光雷达遥感研究中心师生及其他单位70多位科研人员聆听了报告，并与Samo Stanič教授进行了交流讨论。会后，Samo Stanič教授参观考察了西安理工大学激光雷达遥感研究中心，并就未来的发展合作进行了探讨。

Samo Stanič教授是在参加完第29届国际激光雷达大会（6月23-28日，合肥）后应邀来我校访问的。目前与我校建立了长期的合作关系，目前联合培养博士研究生3名，两名已经毕业，并回母校工作，合作申请中斯政府间国际科技合作项目，陕西省国际科技合作基地等。本次访问，双方又探讨了更深层次的合作交流等，为我院国际学术交流合作起到了良好的促进作用。

专家简介：

Dr. Samo Stanič (samo.stanic@ung.si) is a professor of physics at the University of Nova Gorica, Slovenia, where he heads the Center for atmospheric research and is the dean of the School of science. His current research and teaching interests are in the areas of atmospheric physics, astrophysics and instrumentation for atmospheric remote sensing, which led to a large degree pursues through international research collaborations – the Pierre Auger Collaboration and the Cherenkov Telescope Array Consortium. He co-authors over 500 refereed scientific publications, and has been the principle investigator for more than 3.0M EUR in funding from the Slovenian Research Agency, European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation and European Space Agency. At present, he is a member of the editorial board for the journal Atmosphere and Remote Sensing.
